Last night I went to a quick figure drawing event in the city. It was pretty short, about 2 hours. The models posed for only 1 and 5 minute poses, which was unfortunate, because this event had the best assortment of male models I've ever drawn. I wish I had more time to draw some of their awesome poses. Anyways, here are some of the quick drawings. Enjoy.

Another Sketchy Magee Bites the Dust
Due to some unforeseen circumstances*, several pages fell out of the back of most recent sketchbook. Because of this, I'm technically finished with another sketchbook! It's actually embarrassing how long it has taken to fill it's hundred something pages. I started it back in September 2010, you do the math (I did the math in my head, it's too fucking long). Anyways, without further ado, here are some sketches from the past year and however many months.
*Pages falling out most likely from bending the spine too much, throwing the book across the room, and other such punishment taken during the past year and some months.
I drew some boys...
and girls.
I drew some comics.
Some for myself...
and some for other people.
I drew naked men...
and women (of course).
I also drew lots of other junk.
You may have noticed a faint light line going through most of these drawings, that is because my scanner is on it's way out. I've had it for only about five years, but I guess it's had enough. I'll have to get another one soon, when I have enough money.
So, I'm currently working in three other sketchbooks (my new regular sized one, a small travel one, and one strictly for comics), and will update as those ones finish, whenever that is. The new one I started was given to me by a coworker and is a little shorter than my usual sketch books, only 70 pages. So, hopefully it'll be filled before a year has passed. Anyways, that's it. I'm taking some time this week to ink some of the comics I drew earlier in the year, so I'll be posting those soon.
Late-erz!

Graph Paper Fun!
I bought a graph paper notebook the other day just for fun. So I decided to do some sketching to break it in. Nothing special, I just wanted to do some fast loose sketches of nothing much.
Good times.
And then somehow I came up with the idea to sketch some Facebook profile pictures. I clicked on my friends and to my surprise, they no longer organize friends in alphabetical order. I'm not sure what order it's in; it seemed pretty random, so I just sketched them in the random order they appeared in. Again this is nothing special. I drew them in ballpoint pen in one inch square boxes and tried not to spend too much time on each one. I just drew the first ten for right now, but I filled the whole page with boxes, so eventually I may draw more.
Good times.

Join the Revolution!
June was a busy month. I promise. Amongst other things, I moved! YAY! Again. This is my fifth time moving in five years and my third time moving in fourteen months. So, hopefully we'll be here a little while. We live in Elmhurst, Queens, NY, which is a pretty cool neighborhood. Tons of Asian food, tons of Hispanic food, close to trains and 18 minutes to Manhattan. Anyways, here's a little inked piece I did in celebration of not having to wear pants to walk around my place. No longer do I have to get dressed to walk to the bathroom in fear that one of my creepy housemates might be lurking. ¡Viva la Revolución!
Inked version
Colored version
Oh, and here's an extra little ditty. I got a new red ink, so I was just testing it out. Nothing special.
Now time for sleep. It's like 4:30 in the morning.

Female Model Sheet
Character design I've been working on.
A couple color concepts. I originally wanted her to wear the red hoodie, but the orange is kinda growing on me.

Flappalicious
So, back when I thought I was going to quit my job, a coworker of mine decided to get me a little parting gift. She wasn't sure what kind of art supplies I used so she got me a sketchbook, some pencils and a couple of markers. The markers she got were especially interesting. They are Sharpie paint markers. Anyways as a gift to her, I decided to do a little painting just for her using two of the colored markers. One was a metallic green and the other was a sparkly orange.

Initial sketch.
Final pencils.
Inked.
Putting in the background.
I did some rough color inks before I laid down the final colors for the dress and shoes with the markers.
Final.
Below are some detail pictures so you can see the shininess of the metallic green and the sparkles in the orange.

These are the markers I was talking about in case anyone was interested.
Thanks Alexandria!

My internet is out so I can't upload any of the scanned items from the project I've been working on this week. So instead enjoy these two little sketches from my sketchbook.

TL;DR Stuff I Made for Mother's Day and Some Birthdays
So last week I didn't really post anything of substance. I was busy working on some personal projects. Since they are now done and have been received by the people I sent them too, I can post them here! With out further ado, my first project.
My sister called me last December and asked if I could do a series of paintings for her newborn son's bedroom. He wasn't due 'til April, so I put the project off for a while. And then when he was finally born, I realized that I still hadn't a clue what to paint. Anyways, a week and a half ago, I had an idea and decided it would be a perfect mother's day/happy being born day for my sister and nephew. The idea was to do a cartoon-y looking animal drawing for every letter in his first name. My sister didn't make it easy though. See for yourself.

Sketches of some of my ideas.
Thumbnails of the final ideas.
Photo of the final paintings (sorry I forgot to take pics of the whole process).
All of them together after being scanned in.
The other project I worked on was creating mother's day cards for all my sisters, moms, and grandma. Also, since I was sending my new nephew and sister something I decided to also make a card for my brother-in-law whose birthday was on mother's day and their other son whose birthday was just a couple weeks ago. I'm just the worst aunt.
All the cards together.
Close up of the card for my mother-in-law to be. Which is a very similar design to the one for card for my mother. The main difference is that on my mom's card I'm waving and on my mother-in-law's card, John is waving. Also the text on my mother's card is green (my favorite color) and on my mother-in-law's card it's blue (John's favorite color).

Cards for my sister-in-laws to be. They both have two kids, which is why they both have two bees. Jenny has twins, which is why they are the same size flying in the same pattern. I didn't really expect anybody to get that, but I thought it was kinda cute, right?

My nephew's birthday card.
This might be my favorite of the cards. This is the birthday card for my brother-in-law.
Close up of the drawing on the front of my sister's mother's day card. Celebrating the birth of her new son.
I just realized that this is all probably way more information than anyone cares about. Welp, too late, I already typed it out and you already read it all.

Blergh!
This whole week I've been busy working on some personal projects. I promise I'll post pics next week. Until then enjoy another shitty sketch from my sketch book. Also behold the laziness that is me blogging from my phone, because I don't feel like turning on the computer.
