Ten Years

So this weekend is my ten year high school reunion. I won't be going, but I decided to do a little comic about some of the ways I've changed in the past ten years. Partial writing credit to John who, when asked how he thinks I've changed said, "You're a little more drinkey" and "more into food". Enjoy!

I hope if nothing else I've at least gotten better at drawing comics. This one is for you Mary Doornbos.

Ruby and Sapphire

I don't know that I've ever been more obsessed with a show. Here's another Ruby and Sapphire fanart. Enjoy!

A Bit of Sketchyness

A bit of sketchyness to hold you over. I'm currently working on a new comics project, so apologies for not posting so much. Here's a little something from my sketchbook that I thought looked kind of cool. Enjoy!

Greg and Rose

So, I'm just a teensy bit obsessed with Steven Universe. So here's a piece I drew based off this photo of Sid and Nancy.

Rose Quartz loves her a rock star! Well sort of.

Bonus! Here's a quick sketch of Garnet with Ruby and Sapphire.

Ruby and Sapphire!

So I suppose this might be considered "Spoilers", so Spoiler Alert!

Honestly, though, not sure how many people care about Steven Universe spoilers. Anyway, toward the end of the season in the episode "Jail Break" we find out the Garnet is actually a fusion. Which sort of makes sense. She is the one who encourages Stevonnie to enjoy her fusion experience and she is the only crystal gem with two gems and more than two eyes. So in the episode Garnet gets separated and her two halves Ruby and Sapphire have to find each other. Their reunion is pretty beautiful. I decided to do a few doodles last night while watching Steven Universe and then finally decided to do a little colored illustration. Enjoy!

Here's a space chick. I've been doodling a lot of spacey stuff recently, trying to work though this concept I have for a comic. I kinda liked the way this sketch turned out so I decided to ink it and color it in Photoshop. Her uniform is sort of a throwback to this illustration I did a few years ago. Enjoy!

Final colored.

Bonus! I had a lot of fun at last week's NYC Comic Jam. Here are two fun pages that came out of that. NSFW.

I drew the third panel on this one. It's not great; I totally forgot what kermit's feet look like. Fortunately Cheese was able to take my blunder and come up with an awesome punchline. Good stuff.

I drew the last panel on this page. I'm slightly more proud of this one. Good times.

Andrea Food Bender

So, I've recently finished watching Avatar: The Last Airbender and am now watching Legend of Korra. Anyways, that got me thinking, if I was a bender what kind of bender would I be? This comic is the answer to that question. Enjoy.

Process picture featuring a glass of wine that I'm trying not to get mixed up with my water cup.

Final food bending comic.

Who Needs Chopsticks? Part 2

Hey, so after sleeping on it I decided I wanted to balance the composition a bit and add some color and ambiance. I added in some background detail with the lanterns and that inspired the color of the piece a bit. I feel a lot better about it now. It was also quite nice to pick up my brushes again as it has been a few months since I have used them. All in all, I'm pretty okay with how it turned out. Enjoy. Who Needs Chopsticks?

I came up with this rough idea for a sketch featuring me with my mouth wide open vacuum sucking some of my favorite Chinese foods. I spent some time doodling in my sketchbook trying to come up with a composition I liked and did a final line sketch. Below are the results of that work. The problem now is that I don't know what to do with it. I played around with some coloring in Photoshop, but wasn't liking the way it was turning out. So, yeah, not sure what to do. I think I might just leave it for a day or two and look at it again and see if I can come up with something. Anyways, here is what I got.

My Hair is Too Long

Every once in a while I get that urge to chop all my hair off. I haven't done it yet, but everyday I come up with more and more reasons why I want to cut my hair.

The Lost Pages From A Long Gone Sketchy-Magee

So today I was doing some much needed cleaning around the apartment and stumbled upon an old sketchbook from 2013. I purchased this sketchbook in hopes that it could become my next day to day sketchbook. Soon after I started drawing in it the pages began to fall out. I taped the few pages back in but then more pages kept falling out and I got fed up and never finished it. I tossed it aside and bought a better sketchbook. Well today I found it and decided to post some of the forgotten sketches that never got a chance to be posted. Enjoy!

This is a sketchy outline for a comic about my and John's obsession with Mister Softee. In the comic it shows me thinking after John asks me what I want, but the truth is I always know what I want. Cherry dipped cone every time!

I'll leave you with this final thought I found scrawled in the book.
