So MoCCA Fest has come and gone. It was my first time tabling and I got to share it with one of my best friends, Garibaldi. We didn't sell a lot, but we had an awesome weekend. We met a lot of people and learned a lot. This experience will allow me to go into next year better and stronger. I'm already excited. Anyways, here's a quick recap of the weekend.
Friday night we pre gamed it at Drink and Draw Like a Lady.
Needless to say, we drank and we drew.
After about two hours of that we were starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of ladies, the size of the venue and the lack of ventilation. So, we moseyed on over to Jack Dempsey's Pub for the NYC Comics Jam and drew some more.
Warning: Penis (too late)
Got to bed in time to get some rest before the big show!
Table "Pearson vs Garibaldi"
So, the fact of the matter is that neither of us were %100 happy with how our books turned out; it sucks but that's how it is. I didn't sell as much as I would have liked, but I'd be lying if I said I did it for the money. We had a good time. I got to meet tons of people and share experiences and learned so much. And hopefully I got a couple more people to take a look at my work (that'd be nice).
Here's our setup. I'm pretty sure I sold more "Batgirl" stickers than anything else.
Probably my favorite part of MoCCA is getting the chance to discover new artists I like and read a lot of new cool comics.
Here's my haul. Some books I bought and other I traded.
I also love collecting business cards and free postcards. I go to all the websites and blogs and look for new artists to follow. Also, the ones with really cool designs I hang up on my wall.
All in all it was an awesome weekend.
P.S. I think I forgot to mention that I have a twitter account now. I started twittering a few weeks ago, so, if you want to follow me I'm @Saturn2169.
Bonus!
Here's my favorite page from my kid's comic Mito and Me!
