The Revolution Continues!

Are you ready Chicago?! We're just a little under two weeks away from Chicago Zine Fest and the world debut of "No Pants 2", the mildly anticipated sequel to the mostly unread "No Pants Revolution"! I'm so excited, there is some fun stuff in here. If you are in the area come an check out Chicago Zine Fest May 6th at Plumbers Union Hall (1340 W Washington Blvd). Below is a little sneak peek at the cover. Enjoy!

Au Revoir Sketchy Magee and Hello Chicago Zine Fest!

Earlier this week I finished up another sketchbook. I feel like I definitely grew a lot in this book. There was lots of fun stuff and a lot of comics ideas and thumbnails that I'm working on putting together for "No Pants Revolution Part 2". I didn't post any of my comics stuff but below you can see some of the other fun stuff I sketched.

Lots of ladies (surprisingly clothed)

A ton of embarrassing self portraits

Several drawings of people (mostly portraits) courtesy of r/redditgetsdrawn

So much fan art

(Wonder Woman)

(Marceline)

(Amethyst, Ariel, Batgirl)

And some other fun stuff like this naked lady popping out of the water

This weird lady

And slightly less embarrassing self portaits.

B-b-b-b-BONUS!

So, next month (May 6th) I will be tabling at Chicago Zine Fest. I'm finishing up the last bits of "No Pants Revolution Part 2" and will have that for sale along with some other fun stuff. So come fuck with me!

Happy Holidays from 2016

Ah! It's April 2017 and I still haven't posted my holiday card from 2016. To be fair due to some mix 'em ups the last person on my list didn't receive their card til March. But, anyway, here you go.

Rough sketch idea from my sketchbook

Light pencils

Inks. I inked the snow in blue ink.

Final after hand coloring and touch-ups and text in Photoshop.

Also, if you are interested in receiving a holiday card from us in 2017 just shoot me a Facebook message with your address (you don't even have to say "hi!" or what you want. I'll just know) and I'll add you to my list.

Also, also, I've got about two pages left in my sketchbook, so stay tuned for another Sketchy Magee wrap up post!

Also, also, also, big announcement coming soon!

A Couple of Cool Chicks

A few months ago I was at the discount store Tuesday Morning and I found reams of different colored cardstock of various sizes. Each pack had over a hundred sheets and varied in price between $2-$6. I spent about $20 in total. The weight has been good for pen, marker and colored pencil. I've been inspired to do a ton of these little illustrations: some fanart, some original stuff. Here are just a couple of cool chicks I decided to draw.

Carrie Kelley (Robin), Marceline The Vampire Queen and Barbara Gordon (Batgirl)

Two Quick Drawings for @sketch_dailies

Two quick illustrations I did for the artist prompt twitter account @sketch_dailies. I'm slinging 'tent on twitter @saturn2169 (I've also been listening to a lot of Comedy Bang Bang). Check out my twitter if you like. Although a good chunk of it ends up on here eventually.

#Inktober2016

So, I decided to participate in #inktober this year. It felt great to continue drawing everyday however, many of these ended up being pretty rushed. I only really carved out about 30-40 minutes to come up with an idea, sketch it out and ink it. None of these are really polished or thought out illustrations, but I guess that's okay. I still had fun doing it. I also want to thank John for his help coming up with many of these ideas as I sat there frustrated for not being able to decide on what to draw. Oh, you may notice that October 1st is missing. I did draw it and post it on twitter but, I drew it in a sketchbook that didn't take to the ink very well and the drawing ended up pretty fuzzy. Anyway, I just didn't want to post that one, so if you really want to see it, check out my twitter @saturn2169. Without further ado...

I was just a wee bit drunk when I did this one of me posing in front of a discarded mattress.

I actually changed the color of this one on twitter to blue, because I didn't mean for this to look like blood on his face.

This was one of John's prompts: Eric Andre hugging a unicorn.

*Forgot to give Ericka Medina credit for the idea for this one. Cheese plate inspired drawing.

A quick David S Pumpkins from Saturday Night Live.

John came up with the idea to do a series of spooky animals.

Spooky Giraffe.

Frankenstein's Hippo.

Mummy Beaver.

Zombie Penguin.

Kraken Bear.

Final image of the month was my Halloween drawing. A self portrait of me eating airheads and playing Pokemon Go wearing my panda hat.

Hope you enjoyed these. I don't have any specific daily drawing plans for November. However, I do have my holiday card coming up. Woo, that's right! And as you may know I live in Chicago now, so if need my new address or if you have changed addresses message me on Facebook or email me. Ok, that's it.
