Sticker Sale!

For now my store is closed, but that doesn't mean you can't get one of these sweet, sweet stickers. For the next few weeks I will be selling my stickers and shipping them out snail mail. Prices for the stickers are listed on the images below. If you are interested in purchasing one you can email me at apearson@ymail.com with the subject line "sticker sale"; let me know which stickers you want and don't forget to let me know your address. I am accepting payments through Venmo (Saturn2169) and Paypal (Saturn2169@yahoo.com). Because I am shipping them snail mail, in a plain envelope with a stamp, please allow extra time for shipping. US only, sorry.

B-b-b-b-Bonus!

I am also super excited to say that I was interviewed for an article in the Chicago Reader about zine culture during the quarantine. It's been a crazy few months and although it's been paralyzing and depressing in many ways, I have been fighting and trying to continue to stay healthy and create. The article highlights my efforts to sell zines online as well as dropping off zines in free little libraries around Chicago. The article even included a picture of me. The Chicago Reader is a paper that is super special to me. It's been a part of my life since childhood and it's one of the top ways I find out about different arts and cultural events around town. It was so special and emotional for me to be a part of it. You can read the article online here. Below is the image from the paper which included a picture of me next to a free little library in Rogers Park.

The Year is 2020

It's March! Boy, has it been a year already. Some good stuff, some not so great things and some great things! I don't feel like getting into all the details right now. What I do want to do is tell you about some of the awesome shows I got lined up this Spring!

I'm so excited to be a part of these amazing shows! I have a new No Pants Revolution coming out as well as some other fun stuff that I can't wait to show you. Below are a few more details about when and where they are.

April 4: Milwaukee Zine Fest 10:30am-4:30pm at The Central Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library Milwaukee, WI

April 18: Detroit Zine Fest 11am-7pm at Light Box Performance in Detroit, MI

May 16: Chicago Zine Fest 11am-6pm at The Plumbers Union Hall Chicago, IL

June 13-14: Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) 11am-6pm at The Broadway Armory Chicago, IL

So, what else have I been up to? This past December I did my first ever comics reading courtesy of Meanwhile and Saturday Night Drink and Draw. I gave out and mailed over 100 copies of my 2019 Holiday Card (which due to some computer issues I don't have access to right now. That will be for another post soon, promise). Also, for the first time ever, I actually completed all 31 days of #inktober! I was inspired to do inktober illustrations based around the loose concept of fashion. Some of the drawings are of me in outfits inspired by characters, old photos or real life outfits I wear and a few are fan art drawings of characters wearing fun new outfits. Check them out!

Here they are all over the floor. This is fun right?

If you can't make it out to any of the shows I'll be at, then considering grabbing some of my comics from my online store. New stuff coming soon. Link.

Also, if you don't already, go follow me on Instagram and or Twitter for up to date art stuffs.

To Be Fair, The Last Time I Moved Across The Country I Didn't Post For A Year

Hello! So, for those of you who didn't know, I moved back to Chicago! What?! That's right. After close to five years in NYC, I'm back home in Chicago. I'm not gonna lie, I already miss NY, but it's good to be back and close to family. Anyway, for those of you on my holiday card mailing list you should have received a postcard with my and John's new address. If I somehow missed you or you are not on the mailing list and would like to be, shoot me a message on Facebook with your address and I'll send one your way. Now that that is out of the way here are some process pictures along with the final card design (sans address for obvious reasons).

Here are some of the original rough sketches from my sketchbook. Pretty sure I drew these while I was on the train in NYC.

Back in Chicago I got to work on the final drawing.

Inked.

Process shot. Gotta have some tea.

Sneak Preview shot for twitter (@Saturn2169)

All colored with inks and scanned in.

Final! Background and some cleanup done in Photosherp.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I do have some stuff I'm working on now, so I should have some more fun stuff to post soon.
